For most Singapore homes, choose by how and when you want fragrance:
- Reed diffuser: continuous, low-effort background scent
- Room spray: instant fragrance with full control over timing
- Candle: supervised scent plus warm atmosphere for a defined ritual
- Pillow mist: a separate, fabric-directed format for a bedtime routine—not a general room-fragrance replacement
No format is universally strongest or best. Room size, airflow, air-conditioning, placement, usage and personal sensitivity all change the experience.
The one-question decision test
Ask: Do I want scent all the time, only on command or as part of a ritual?
- Choose a diffuser for an always-ready entryway or living area.
- Choose a room spray when one room has several uses or you want to refresh it before guests.
- Choose a candle when lighting and extinguishing it are part of the experience.
- Choose a pillow mist when the cue belongs specifically to bedding and bedtime.
Then consider children, pets, fragrance sensitivity, spill risk, flame safety and household rules.
Reed diffuser: best for continuous background fragrance
A reed diffuser gradually draws scented liquid through the reeds and releases it into the room. It requires no electricity or flame and can suit an entryway, living room or other stable surface with some air movement.
LYNK’s current diffuser instructions advise starting with two or three reeds and adding more to increase intensity. Reeds can be flipped to strengthen the scent, but more frequent flipping speeds evaporation. The listed Fig & Lotus range currently includes 50ml and 150ml diffuser options, although individual packaging variants can differ in availability.
Why a diffuser may seem weaker after a few days
The explanation is not always product failure. You may have become accustomed to the scent, airflow may have changed, the reeds may be saturated, or the diffuser may be poorly positioned. Before adding more reeds, leave the room and return later, check placement and follow the product instructions.
Do not place a diffuser beside an open window where fragrance disappears immediately or on an unprotected surface where spills can stain furniture. Keep it away from children and pets.

Room spray: best for instant control
Room spray works immediately and only when you use it. This makes it useful in compact apartments where the living room may also serve as a work, dining and hosting area.
LYNK’s current room-spray directions advise shaking well, spraying towards room corners and allowing the scent to diffuse. A few applications are intended to be sufficient. The current White Tea Room Spray listing is 100ml.
Room spray is the easiest format to stop using when you no longer want fragrance. It can refresh a room after cleaning or before visitors arrive, but it should not be used to hide smoke, mould, drains, dampness or hygiene problems.
Avoid spraying at people, pets or food, and do not assume every room spray is designed for fabric. Follow the exact label.

Candle: best for atmosphere and a defined ritual
A candle gives fragrance, warm light and a visible start and end to an evening ritual. It can suit reading, journalling, dinner or quiet time after screens.
LYNK’s current Fig & Lotus candle is a 300g candle with a wooden wick and lid, and the listing states a burn time of up to 90 hours. LYNK describes its candles as hand-poured in Singapore using its palm-wax and coconut-oil blend.
A candle is not an unattended background product. Keep it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from curtains, books, bedding and drafts. Never leave it burning when you leave the room or go to sleep. Homes with children, pets or open-flame restrictions may be better suited to spray or diffuser formats.

Pillow mist: best for a bedding-specific bedtime cue
Pillow mist is not interchangeable with room spray. LYNK’s Counting Sheep (Lavender + Sandalwood) Pillow Mist is a 100ml product with directions to shake and spritz once or twice onto pillows, blankets, comforters or sheets. It is for external use only.
Choose it when you want scent connected specifically to the bedtime routine. Start lightly, avoid the face and eyes, and let the mist settle. Product names or fragrance do not guarantee sleep outcomes.
Which format lasts longest?
“Longest” can mean different things:
- a diffuser releases scent gradually across days or weeks
- a candle is measured by individual supervised burn sessions
- a room spray creates a temporary fragrance reset
- a pillow mist is reapplied as part of a bedding routine
The current Fig & Lotus diffuser listing estimates 4–6 weeks for 50ml and 3–4 months for 150ml, while the current 300g candle listing states up to 90 hours. These are product-specific listing estimates, not universal comparisons. Airflow and usage affect real-world duration.
Which smells strongest?
Intensity is subjective. A room spray may feel strongest immediately because it is applied on demand. A diffuser is designed for gradual release, and a candle’s fragrance depends on the product, room and burn session.
In a small room, begin lightly. Stronger is not automatically better, and becoming accustomed to a scent can make it seem less noticeable over time. Ask another household member before increasing intensity.

Best format by room
A diffuser can create a consistent arrival cue if it sits securely and away from the edge of a console.
Living room
Choose a diffuser for background scent, room spray before guests or a candle for supervised evening atmosphere.
Bedroom
Room spray offers timing control, a pillow mist provides a bedding-specific cue, and a lightly adjusted diffuser can work for users who prefer continuous fragrance. A candle must be extinguished before sleep.
Bathroom
Resolve drains and dampness first. Use Poo Fighters™ drops for toilet-bowl odour, room spray for an immediate reset or a secure diffuser for background fragrance. A candle is not an odour fix.
Are reed diffusers worth it for small homes?
They can be if you want continuous fragrance. Begin with fewer reeds, choose a secure location and adjust gradually.
Why can I no longer smell my diffuser?
You may have adapted to the scent, airflow may have changed or the reeds may need attention. Follow the product directions before increasing intensity.
Is room spray better than a diffuser?
Room spray offers instant control; a diffuser offers ongoing background scent. The better option depends on your routine.
Can I use a candle in a bedroom?
Only while awake and supervising it, on a safe surface away from bedding and curtains. Extinguish it before sleep.
Is pillow mist the same as room spray?
No. Use each product only as directed. LYNK’s verified pillow-mist directions are specifically for pillows and bedding.
For Singapore homes, the right home scent is the format that fits the room and routine. Choose a diffuser for continuous scent, room spray for instant control, a candle for supervised atmosphere or pillow mist for a bedding-specific cue. Start lightly and prioritise household safety over intensity.
